I came across this article from the World Health Organisation, called: “Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)”, and it blew my mind. Worldwide more than 1 million people are infected with a sexual transmitted disease (STD) each and every day. That is a lot of people, and some of those cases should be preventable with the right information and education. So, I thought that is a great opportunity for me to make a video on STDs, and spread more awareness.

What is an STD?
STDs are infections that can be transmitted from one person to another during sexual intercourse (vaginal, anal and/or oral). They can cause severe symptoms, but sometimes they cause no symptoms at all! This is especially scary because some untreated STDs can cause infertility, several types of cancer and even lead to death.

The line-up
There are 30 different bacteria, viruses and parasites that can cause an STD, and to keep this video series short, I will only cover the 4 most common curable STD’s: syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia and trichomoniasis.

How to prevent getting infected?
1. Use protection. 2. Get tested. 3. Get treated. 4. Tell your partners.
